The Illawarra Hawks have added to their depth for the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season by signing Lamar Patterson as a Nominated Replacement Player.
The 35-year-old joins the Hawks after a strong NBL1 North season, in which he guided Ipswich to the Grand Final. Across his 17 appearances for the Force, Patterson averaged 23.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
Prior to this, Patterson played college hoops at Pittsburgh, before he was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 48th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, and then traded to Atlanta. The forward would go on to play 44 games for the Hawks across two seasons.
Since then, Patterson played in Puerto Rico, Italy and China before penning a deal with the Brisbane Bullets. This would be the first of six seasons he spent with the Bullets from NBL19 to NBL26, which included a six-game stint with the Breakers.
In total, Patterson has played 111 NBL games, averaging 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Patterson joins Kyle Adnam as a Nominated Replacement Player for the Hawks this season, a roster that also features Tyler Harvey, Sam Froling, Will Hickey, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk, Milton Doyle, Darius Days, Todd Blanchfield, Dan Grida, Kobe McDowell-White, Johny Narkle, Mason Peatling and Amarco Doyle.
Illawarra will open its 2026-27 campaign on Sunday, September 20 against the New Zealand Breakers at Spark Arena.
