Zylan Cheatham has backed Adelaide to silence Sydney’s crowd and snap their NBL title drought in the decider.

Zylan Cheatham knows the Qudos Bank Arena crowd will be loud and hostile, but says the outcome won’t be decided in the stands.

More than 18,000 fans are expected on Sunday, with Sydney’s home dominance in the Series making them clear favourites.

But Cheatham says Adelaide is ready to silence the crowd and end the 36ers’ 24-year championship drought.

“It is going to be a hostile environment, but at the end of the day the crowd can’t play for them (Sydney),” the 36ers star told CODE Sports.

“It’s the same thing we’ve been doing all season, believe in ourselves and go in with a big game plan. We can’t get caught up in all the outside distractions.”

Cheatham has been in fine form across the past two games, recording a near triple-double in Game 4 and a double-double in Game 3.

The 30-year-old is yet to win a professional title and says he’d love nothing more than achieve it with Adelaide.

“I’ve had a little bit of success in these last few games, but it means nothing if we don’t finish it,” he added.

The 36ers take on Sydney on Sunday, live on ESPN and 10 from 2:30pm AEST.
