The South East Melbourne Phoenix face a major challenge against Adelaide on Sunday after star guard Nathan Sobey was ruled out through illness.
Star MVP candidate Nathan Sobey will miss his team’s top-of-the-table clash against Adelaide on Sunday.
The Phoenix confirmed the news on Saturday via their social media channels, announcing Sobey would be out due to illness.
The 35-year-old has been in a rare vein of form in NBL26, averaging 22.8 points a game, including at least 24 in the last five games.
He looms as a huge loss for the second-placed Phoenix, who currently have three games to make up on the ladder-leading 36ers.
Adelaide and South East Melbourne face off on Sunday at 2.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and 10.
