The Brisbane Bullets announced on Friday that they have signed defensive wing Sam McDaniel to a new two-year deal.
McDaniel first joined the Bullets in NBL24, following three years with Melbourne United (who he won a championship with) and two seasons with Tasmania.
After playing 28 games for the Bullets in NBL24, injuries have limited McDaniel to just one and 10 games respectively over the past two campaigns.
McDaniel has also represented Australia both in 3x3 and with the Boomers and is currently playing for the Ipswich Force in NBL1 North.
“I’m really pleased to be staying in Brisbane - the city truly feels like home now, and I’m driven to help bring success to the Bullets,” McDaniel said.
“I feel like I’ve got unfinished business after the last couple of years, and I’m excited to show the best of myself in NBL27 and beyond.
“The opportunity to work with Will [Weaver] and the core group we’ve got returning is something I’m really looking forward to. It’s an exciting time to be at the club.”
Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations, Will Weaver, believes McDaniel’s character and skill set make him an integral piece for the Bullets.
“We’re delighted to have Sam re-sign; his commitment to winning basketball on both ends of the floor will make Bullets fans proud,” Coach Weaver said.
“He has worked tremendously hard to overcome unfortunate injuries in recent years, and we will work closely with him to ensure he is fit and firing ahead of NBL27.”
McDaniel joins Tyrell Harrison, Jacob Holt, Mitch Norton, Tristan Devers and Taine Murray on Weaver’s squad for next season.
