What is the Ignite Cup?

The in-season tournament is played across 20 Wednesday night games, with every result counting towards the regular season ladder. A unique quarter-by-quarter scoring system decides a separate Ignite Cup ladder.

For NBL27, the tournament evolves into a four-team Ignite Cup Finals Series at AIS Arena in Canberra. The teams will battle it out for a share of $550,000 in prize money, the largest in League history and up from last season's $400,000.

Talking points

No time to wait

Perth lost both games last round in front of their home crowd and now travel on the road for a rare away game in this first half of the season.

Another key injury to a Wildcats star will mean someone else must step up to carry the load and help get them back in the winners’ list.

Undermanned and fighting

Nate Hinton appeared on an NBL Now two weeks ago and was discussing how confident his team was, despite their injuries.

Well, if Sunday’s game in Adelaide was anything to go by, he is certainly not wrong.

The Bullets have found an identity under Will Weaver and are slowly building this season.

A strong home win over a motivated Perth could be just what they need to put themselves in the hunt.
