Talking points

Phoenix backing it up
South East Melbourne recorded their biggest win of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season on Sunday, smashing crosstown rivals Melbourne by 25 points.

It's now imperative that Josh King's side build on this against Tasmania and cement their spot in the top three.

History bodes well for the Phoenix, winning 10 of the 13 matchups between the two sides all-time.

Must-win game for JackJumpers
At 6-10, the JackJumpers sit just one win outside of the top six.

But after a tough loss in New Zealand, there's a sense the JackJumpers' NBL26 season is slipping away.

So it's crucial for the JackJumpers to bounce back and return to the winners' circle as soon as they can.

Thankfully for Scott Roth's side, they are a much better side (4-4) on the road, than they are at home (2-6).

What they're saying

Phoenix import Wes Iwundu on adjusting to the NBL:
"I was just telling somebody - I think this is a little over two months for me.

"You know, sometimes every player takes different times to get adjusted.

"But I finally feel like I'm here, I got my feet down on the ground and, you know, after a win like this, it’s just something you want to keep building off of - personally and as a team."

Tasmania coach Scott Roth on how important it is for his team to have David Johnson back:
"Most of our guys are feeling relatively good and David Johnson's probably the one that's still a week or two behind just with the soreness having not played for nine or 10 weeks, and then we tried to monitor him over the break and not over do it with him.

"That calf thing is dangerous and he needs game reps like he got in this game and hopefully quicker than later he can round back into some shape because he's a factor for us."
