Talking points
Is there a curse?
The Tasmania JackJumpers are one of the best teams in the competition so far this season, and after they beat the Phoenix last round with just six rostered players, a win on Friday night against New Zealand may be even more impressive.
The reason for that is because the JackJumpers are playing once again at the Silverdome, where they have won just two of 11 games in the last few years.
Scott Roth laughed off any talk of a curse, but this JackJumpers team just needs a win on the board in Launceston to properly move on from that talk.
Stop the rot
The New Zealand Breakers quickly went from one of the most promising and underrated teams in the league to a group desperate for a win, dropping their last four games and struggling to find their early-season form.
While Sam Mennenga has continued his breakout season, it’s been the complementary cast that has struggled to find consistency.
It doesn’t get much easier this season than to take on Tasmania at home, but if this Breakers team wants any chance to find success this season, they must find a way in this one.
