Harrell hints at shock NBL return

He was one of the biggest stars to ever set foot in the NBL, and now he could be on his way back to the Hungry Jack’s competition.

Former Adelaide 36ers big man Montrezl Harrell, who averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2 assists in NBL25, has taken to social media to hint that a return to the League might be on the cards.

“My agent just told me we got some @NBL interest since being in PR!!! (Puerto Rico)” Harrell said via X.

After his strong debut season, in which he helped Adelaide reach the post-season, Harrell originally signed with the Sixers for a second season in 2025-26, but the two parted ways in the pre-season when he was handed a provisional ban for using a prohibited substance playing in China.

He has since returned to playing and is currently representing San German in Puerto Rico, averaging 16.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
