The Perth Wildcats have made a huge statement on the first day of the NBL27 Free Agency period by reportedly re-signing electric guard Elijah Pepper.

According to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc, the Australian Boomers sharpshooter has penned a new two-year deal with Perth, which will keep him at the club until the end of 2027-28.

This is a big move by the Wildcats, with Uluc reporting that Brisbane, Melbourne and Tasmania were interested in signing the second-year guard.

The 24-year-old was one of the biggest improvers during the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season.

Through the first 11 rounds, Pepper averaged 7.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, across 12.5 minutes per game, but when the opportunity presented itself in the second half of the season, the guard averaged 13 points, 2.7 boards and 1.9 dimes in 29.6 minutes per game.

With Pepper’s reported signature, John Rillie’s side now have Kristian Doolittle, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr., Dylan Windler, Jesse Wagstaff, Ben Henshall, Jaron Rillie, Cameron Huefner and Noa Kouakou-Heugue on contract for NBL27.
