Electric wing Jaylin Galloway will make his long-awaited Cairns debut on Sunday, when the Taipans host the New Zealand Breakers.

Galloway, who signed with the Taipans from Sydney in the off-season, has missed the first eight games of Cairns’ campaign with a shoulder injury, which required surgery after he won his third championship with the Kings in March.

“I signed with Cairns because I wanted a bigger role and opportunity,” Galloway said.

“I also wanted to play alongside Kyrin [older brother], who I haven’t played with since 2023 at an NBL1 level with Ipswich, when we won the title.”

The 23-year-old reconnects with Head Coach Adam Forde, who signed him to his first professional contract with the Kings in 2020.

“I’m excited to play for Fordey, who gave me my first professional contract,” he added.

Galloway has 125 NBL games to his name and a FIBA Asia Cup MVP, after leading the Australian Boomers to the 2025 title.

Sunday’s Round 6 fixture tips off at 3pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
