Brisbane Bullets star Dakota Mathias is set for an extended stint on the sidelines, after fracturing his scapula against Illawarra.

The Brisbane Bullets will be without another one of their stars for the foreseeable future, after Dakota Mathias set for a stint on the sidelines.

Scans have revealed that Mathias, who is averaging 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, sustained a fractured scapula following heavy contact to his shoulder during the club's Round 12 fixture with Illawarra.

This injury will not require surgery and after consultation with specialists, the American's return timeline is to be reassessed in 6-8 weeks following ongoing review.

Mathias joins Casey Prather (knee) and Lamar Patterson (hamstring) on the sidelines, with the latter too ruled out for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Bullets will look to keep their finals hopes alive on Sunday afternoon, when they host Perth from 4.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and 10 Drama.
