Talking points

Must-win game

Not many people would have predicted a regular Round 7 Friday night clash between New Zealand and Adelaide would be so crucial to their respective seasons, yet here we are. While the standings are incredibly close from top to bottom, the Adelaide 36ers sit ninth on the table and are trying to keep their heads above water until they get key players back from injury. The Breakers, however, welcomed back Parker Jackson-Cartwright last game but fell short against Cairns and will be wanting to put on a show for their home fans.

Who can stop them?

On both sides of this game, there are players who look almost impossible to guard when these teams meet. Six-time MVP Bryce Cotton has had plenty of success against the Breakers, and he’ll be looking at what other guards have done to them this season and feeling very confident. On the New Zealand front, Sam Mennenga has taken another step forward this season and looks to be in the mix to make the leap to the NBA when it’s all said and done.
