Talking points

Perth bounce back
It will be interesting to see how Perth respond after their last-minute loss to Bryce Cotton and the Adelaide 36ers.

As Jesse Wagstaff admitted, his Wildcats were the better side for three and a half quarters, in both their Round 11 matches against Melbourne and Adelaide, but walk away from the weekend 1-1.

In front of their home fans and against one of their rivals, John Rillie's side will be locked in on Friday night.

Kings return to court
With Matthew Dellavedova (illness) and Shaun Bruce (calf) on the sidelines, Sydney went 1-2, including back-to-back road losses in Tasmania and New Zealand.

Brian Goorjian's side welcome back both guards for their clash on Friday, in desperate search of a win, after dropping to 7-7 on the season.

These two veterans will no doubt bring a calming presence to the court, which is something the Kings missed over the past two losses.

What they're saying

Wildcats coach John Rillie on his team's potential:
“I’m going to stay positive with us.

“I reflect on the growth we’ve had over the last month or six weeks. But also how we played for the majority of the time in the space of four days against the two best teams.

“We showed we are not quite at that level consistently. But we certainly showed for 70 or 75 minutes that we can be in the upper echelon. It’s the consistency of that we’ve got to bring.”

Kings coach Brian Goorjian on his side's fifth position on the ladder:
“Our situation now is we are in a dog fight to try to get into these Playoffs and we cannot keep losing games.

“We marked this one and had a lot of opportunity to prepare for this one, so there are no excuses. It was one that was very important with what is ahead.”
