Talking points

Any rust?

The Tasmania JackJumpers played three games in six days leading up to their home Ignite Cup clash to begin Round 6 and haven’t hit the floor since. How will the nine-day break look for the benchmark team of the competition? On one hand, it’s given Will Magnay and co. plenty of time to rest and recover their bodies after a tough opening part to the season, but the question now is how they’ll keep their momentum going. The task doesn’t get any easier for Scott Roth’s men, with the Sydney Kings coming to town full of confidence and looking to steal a win.

Building an MVP case?

Everyone expected a bounce-back performance from Kendric Davis after his game against Melbourne United last week, and the reigning Championship Series MVP delivered over in Perth. Davis came out on fire, dropping 16 first-quarter points and putting his team in the box seat for a big win on the road. After the Kings wrapped up the win, Davis finished his post-game interview and walked off the floor to the locker room, revealing an “MVP” logo on the back of his compression top. The superstar point guard is locked in and more motivated than ever.
