REPORT: Bullets sign son of NBL gun

ESPN's Olgun Uluc is reporting that the Brisbane Bullets have signed Max Mackinnon to a multi-year deal.

The exciting revamp of the Brisbane Bullets has reportedly continued, with the club reportedly signing the son of an NBL gun.

According to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc, the Bullets have signed Max Mackinnon, the son of NBL legend Sam Mackinnon, to a two-year deal.

This would see the 22-year-old return to the club where he was a development player during the Hungry Jack’s NBL22 Season.

Max Mackinnon has signed a two-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets, sources told ESPN. The 6'6 guard joins his hometown team, after averaging 15.7 ppg (37.6% 3PT), 2.6 rpg, and 2.5 apg as a senior at LSU.

Since then, the wing has spent four years in the United States college system, starting with two at Elon, followed by single seasons at Portland and LSU.

In the latter, he averaged 15.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game across his 31 appearances for the Tigers.

Following that, Mackinnon enjoyed a strong stint with the NBL Next Stars team at the 2026 adidas EuroCamp in Italy and suited up for the Charlotte Hornets at the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Mackinnon joins Tyrell Harrison, Nate Hinton, Arnas Velička, Jacob Holt, Sam McDaniel, Lat Mayen, Taine Murray, Mitch Norton, Harry Rouhliadeff and Rio Bruton on Will Weaver’s roster.
