The New Zealand Breakers have reportedly moved quickly to replace the injured forward Josiah-Jordan James, ahead of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season.

As first reported by foxsports.com.au and then later by ESPN, Tall Blacks international Mojave King has signed with the Breakers as an Injury Replacement Player.

The four-year NBL veteran, who played 17 games with the Breakers in 2024-25, has career averages of 7.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists across his 95 NBL appearances.

A former NBL Next Star, King was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 47th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and has also played for Adelaide and Cairns.

The Breakers announced on Wednesday that import James would be sidelined for the start of the season after tearing his hamstring.

New Zealand opens its NBL27 campaign on Sunday at Spark Arena, hosting Illawarra from 3pm AEST, live on ESPN.
