The South East Melbourne Phoenix have reportedly made their first big splash this off-season, with ESPN's Olgun Uluc announcing that they arr signing of Tanner Krebs on a two-year deal.

The 30-year-old was one of the most sought-after free agents, having just finished his third season with Melbourne United.

According to Uluc on NBL Marketplace, presented by Paywise, many NBL teams had been in conversation with Krebs, which was seen as one of the major dominoes to fall in this period.

Krebs will be entering his seventh season in the NBL and has been a reliable piece for both Brisbane and Melbourne in that time, proving more than capable of stepping up into larger roles when required.

While he averaged eight points and three rebounds, it was the 11 games in double figures, including a 29-point outing in Perth in just 20 minutes, which had many teams looking to swoop.

For Josh King, Krebs provides another key piece to their puzzle for NBL27 as he slots alongside Angus Glover as two key local wings.

With this addition, the Phoenix has Nathan Sobey, Jordi Hunter,  Angus Glover, Owen Foxwell, Ellis Biggar and Krebs under contract.
