Beat The Coach: Top Round 10 picks & PLAY NOW
.jpg)
Round 10 of Beat The Coach brings another exciting weekend of SuperCoach NBL action, with six teams doubling up and a host of in-form players ready to deliver big scores.
Round 10 of NBL26 is right around the corner, which means another chance to try and take down Damon Lowery in Beat The Coach, presented by Choice Hotels.
After a fortnight of just four teams taking to the court twice, six teams will have two outings in Round 10. This makes the pool of options slightly larger than it has been, although that could make it harder to find the perfect winning formula.
Damon Lowery returned to his best last week, losing to just 1,388 of the 14,000+ coaches in Round 9. Damon is in impressive form, so you’ll need your absolute best to take him down as always.
Premium options:
Josh Bannan – Tasmania JackJumpers ($328,400)
John Brown III – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($276,800)
Zylan Cheatham – Adelaide 36ers ($305,600)

Jesse Edwards – Melbourne United ($271,700)

Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. – Perth Wildcats ($315,000)
JaVale McGee – Illawarra Hawks ($394,200)
Nathan Sobey – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($331,700)
Tyson Walker – Melbourne United ($322,700)
- Names listed alphabetically
36ers superstar Bryce Cotton dropped a whopping 70 SuperCoach points on Sunday against the Taipans after a down night against the JackJumpers earlier in the round. He sits at a pricey $458,400, but he’s still one of the best picks in the game if you can get him in.
Zylan Cheatham was outstanding in the 36ers double game weekend, with 88 points for the round, while Isaac Humphries also impressed as he has all season, finishing with 71 points for the weekend.
Will Hickey has been consistently brilliant for Illawarra since his return, finishing with 39 SuperCoach points after another near triple double in their Round 9 game.
JaVale McGee and Tyler Harvey had quieter nights by their standards against the Kings, but should both return to their best form. McGee in particular still has the second highest SuperCoach average in the league and would never be a bad pick for coaches.
Melbourne United star Milton Doyle had his second biggest SuperCoach haul of the season in his side’s win over the Brisbane Bullets, finishing with 45 points.
Doyle outdid teammates Jesse Edwards and Tyson Walker on the weekend, however Edwards and Walker are still the two highest scoring United players so far this season and definitely aren’t strangers to a big total.
Kristian Doolittle starred for the Wildcats, finishing with 45 SuperCoach points against the Breakers and bringing his average up to 28.3 for the season.
On the other hand, Jo Lual Acuil Jr had his third consecutive game under 25 SuperCoach points and will still be looking to return to the 40+ point SuperCoach average from earlier in the season.
The Phoenix trio of Nathan Sobey, Owen Foxwell, and John Brown III have been very consistent in recent weeks and will look to keep up their solid run, with all three stars averaging over 25 SuperCoach points for the season. Sobey has been the strongest performer of the bunch, only dropping under 30 points on one occasion since their Round 5 clash with Illawarra.
Despite their team’s recent struggles, the JackJumpers duo of Josh Bannan and Bryce Hamilton have still scored consistently with SuperCoach averages right around the 30 point mark. Either would be a safe pick to perform well even if their side continues to underperform.
Budget-friendly picks:
Kyle Bowen – Melbourne United ($117,000)
Majok Deng – Tasmania JackJumpers ($207,800)
Ben Henshall – Perth Wildcats ($140,100)
Daniel Foster – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($108,600)
Angus Glover – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($212,800)
Jordan Hunter – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($169,000)
Wes Iwundu – South East Melbourne Phoenix ($199,700)
Matt Kenyon – Adelaide 36ers ($76,400)
Fabijan Krslovic – Melbourne United ($166,700)
Nick Marshall – Tasmania JackJumpers ($190,800)
Johny Narkle – Illawarra Hawks ($60,700)
David Okwera – Perth Wildcats ($145,000)
Elijah Pepper – Perth Wildcats ($162,000)
Nick Rakocevic – Adelaide 36ers ($205,500)
- Names listed alphabetically
Nick Rakocevic was strong once again last weekend, 38 SuperCoach points for the round, bumping his average to 18.3 for the season.
Matt Kenyon had his best game for the season so far against the JackJumpers, finishing on 19 SuperCoach points as a starter. He finished the round with 25 points in total and should build upon this with some consistency in the role.
Johny Narkle finished with 11 SuperCoach points against Sydney to back up his 9 point total the week before. Playing 14 minutes in each of his last two outings, the increase sees his become a very suitable sixth man option at just $60,700.
Kyle Bowen and Fabijan Krslovic were both strong in Melbourne’s win over the Bullets on Saturday evening, with 20 and 18 SuperCoach points respectively. Bowen in particular saw a role increase, with 20 minutes being his highest total of the year so far.
Elijah Pepper was Perth’s second highest scorer on the weekend, finishing with 26 SuperCoach points, and remains a valuable option at just $162,000 if he can keep his starting role.
Ben Henshall ($140,100) and David Okwera ($145,000) both scored decently last week too, with 14 and 18 points respectively. These are totals that can easily be maintained and would justify their price tags.
Angus Glover had another huge game for the Phoenix in his return, dropping six three pointers and finishing with 39 SuperCoach points. At $212,800, he’s sitting at the very expensive end of the budget picks, but would be a strong choice nonetheless.
Jordan Hunter’s price has dropped to $169,000, but his ceiling is high with him scoring as many as 30 points this year.
Wes Iwundu and Daniel Foster both impressed on the weekend as well, finishing with 18 SuperCoach points each. The total is Iwundu’s highest for the season, while Foster backed up his 27 point finish against Melbourne United from one week prior.
Majok Deng was excellent once again for the JackJumpers, finishing with 31 SuperCoach points, while teammate Nick Marshall continued a consistent run of form with 22 SuperCoach points against the 36ers.
Tempting single-game choices:
Kendric Davis – Sydney Kings ($392,600)
Tyrell Harrison – Brisbane Bullets ($356,300)
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – New Zealand Breakers ($406,500)
Jack McVeigh – Cairns Taipans ($353,900)
- Names listed alphabetically
Tyrell Harrison will be the main man in Brisbane with the unfortunate loss of Casey Prather to injury, and should continue his impressive SuperCoach scoring run after another 63 point haul across two games last weekend.
Jack McVeigh and Parker Jackson-Cartwright were both excellent for their sides in Round 9, finishing with 88 and 81 SuperCoach points respectively. Both players scored over 50 points in their second game last weekend and will carry plenty of momentum.
Kendric Davis was as impressive as he always is in Sydney’s win over the Hawks, finishing with 33 SuperCoach points. He can certainly go higher though, and would be a very intriguing point of difference for coaches ahead of their game against Tasmania.
