Perth Wildcats star Kristian Doolittle is 'frustrated' with his play through the early part of the NBL26 season.

Perth Wildcats star Kristian Doolittle admits he is "struggling" with the extra expectation of being one of the team's focal points during the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season.

When Bryce Cotton left for Adelaide, the Wildcats gave more of the offensive responsibilities to the University of Oklahoma alum. Combine that with the back-court struggles of his side and there has been even more pressure on the 28-year-old US forward.

While he embraces the extra responsibility, he admits he has been "frustrated" by his own form, with him putting up averages of 11.7 points, 7 rebounds and 2.8 assists this campaign.

“I wouldn’t say my form has been good at all. Even in some of the wins, I’m very critical of how I’ve played,” Doolittle told The West Australian.

“I haven’t been scoring at the usual rate that I do. I feel like I haven’t been as aggressive as I usually am. I feel like I’m trying to make the most of the situation.

“I’ve spoken with my coaches. We both understand that for us to get to where we want to get, I need to play at a high level. I’m trying to find ways that I can achieve that."

That challenge will be made harder with the club's recent release of star guard Mason Jones and the injury to import wing Dylan Windler.

Doolittle's Wildcats, who have lost their past two matches, play at the Cairns Convention Centre on Wednesday against the Taipans.

That Ignite Cup fixture tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
