Talking points

Can they stay hot?

The South East Melbourne Phoenix finally caught fire across the past two games, hitting 14 and 18 threes respectively to get two big wins on the board.

Josh King’s confidence in his team’s ability to knock down the outside shot never wavered, but as the losses continued to pile up, so did the pressure.

Now, coming off back-to-back wins, can the Phoenix continue their red-hot form from beyond the arc? It’s unlikely they’ll start 8/8 from three again like they did in their last outing, but then again, maybe they can.

Two opposite styles

On one end, you have the Phoenix, who play incredibly fast and look to get shots up early, even if it’s not always the best look.

On the other side of the floor are the JackJumpers, who are notorious for slowing the game down and executing to perfection.

The contrasting styles mean something has to give, so which coach has the better backup plan if their game plan isn’t working?
