It may have been less than a week since he parted ways with the Tasmania JackJumpers, but Sean Macdonald is reportedly attracting plenty of interest around the League.
The NBL24 champion, who played 86 matches across five seasons with the JackJumpers, has been contacted by three different teams, including the South East Melbourne Phoenix, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
“Sean Macdonald is someone who just got released from the Tasmania JackJumpers, and I know the Phoenix, the Illawarra Hawks and Perth Wildcats have all reached out,” Uluc said on The Marketplace, presented by Paywise.
“[Those there] are teams that are pursuing him.”

In terms of the Phoenix, Uluc outlined that, if Macdonald did ultimately choose The Heartland club, they are building a strong local core.
“Could he fit there [at the Phoenix]?” Uluc said.
“If he does [sign there], you have, between Macdonald, [Angus] Glover, and [Tanner] Krebs, three high-level local wing shooters.
“That's really important around [Nathan] Sobey, who was outstanding last season.
“Sobey, an import point guard and whatever they're going to get at the four spot, and Jordi Hunter. There's a really good local core that the Phoenix are building here.”
As it stands, Josh King’s side have Sobey, Hunter, Glover, Krebs, Owen Foxwell, Hunter Goodrick, Pat Ryan and Ellis Biggar under contract for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season.
