"We don't talk about that here": Roth

Scott Roth praised Tasmania’s fight and Bryce Hamilton’s standout performance, stressing process over ladder position.
Tasmania coach Scott Roth isn’t worried about ladder position or losing streaks, only continued improvement.
"We don't talk about the ladder here in Tasmania and I've never talked about it in five years," he said after Thursday’s narrow loss to South East Melbourne.
"We just worry about stacking days and taking care of ourselves. We could lose 10 in a row or we could win five in a row, it doesn't really matter.
"It's just you're going to be where you're going to be at the end of the season, and if you're following all those kind of things, you're probably going to be miserable all season, because you're so enthralled with everything else that's going on."
The JackJumpers now sit sixth on the ladder with a 5-6 record, after dropping three straight games, including Thursday’s 91 to 89 defeat to the Phoenix at the Silverdome.
Ben Ayre had a shot to win the game that ultimately rimmed out.
Despite the result, Roth was happy with his team’s fight in the closing stages, having battled back from six points down with 1.47 left in the fourth.
"I thought our aggressiveness and intensity to play was really good," he said.
"I love the fight of our guys and it was great for the fans to finally see some back and forth scoring after four years coming to Launceston.
"Obviously, it would have been great for Ben to hit that shot, but we won a game like that not too long ago and the basketball gods aren't always that kind. That's the ebbs and flows of sport at the end of the day."
Roth also had high praise for import Bryce Hamilton, who delivered a season-high 36 points and 8 rebounds.
"To get 36 points in 33 minutes on the court and not go to the foul line is impressive, I don't think I've ever seen that in my professional career," Roth said.
"I also thought he made some great decisions down the end there. When they double-teamed him and he swung the ball to the right people and we got good shots."
The JackJumpers will look to bounce back quickly when they host Brisbane at MyState Bank Arena on Saturday. Tip off is at 5.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
