Adelaide 36ers star Flynn Cameron says the 'pressure' is on his former side Melbourne, during Sunday's blockbuster at John Cain Arena.

Sunday's top-of-the-table clash between Melbourne and Adelaide is arguably the game of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season to date.

The undefeated United face the 5-1 36ers, who are being spearheaded by 30.7 points a game from five-time MVP Bryce Cotton.

Another wrinkle to the Indigenous Round blockbuster is it marks Most Improved Award contender Flynn Cameron's first game back in Melbourne since his off-season move to Adelaide.

“It [playing against my old side at John Cain Arena] is definitely something that's special to me,” Cameron said during Tuesday's media availability.

“Obviously I want to beat my old side. I’ve still got a lot of close connections there and still a lot of relationships and friendships over there, so I think it’ll be a great game.

“[We] definitely [focus on the] process, game by game, but because they're undefeated, I'd say they've got more pressure on them.

"We're slowly building. Obviously, five and one so we're taking the game-by-game, trying to get better each day.”

A big part of that 5-1 start is the DePaul University alum's career-best numbers in points (12.8), rebounds (4.5) and assists (3.7) so far in NBL26.

That's why coach Mike Wells will be leaning on the Tall Black international during the Round 6 fixture.

“After training, we just kind of got on the whiteboard and he was picking my brain about how he thinks they'll defend us and, yeah, we're just creating clarity, so we can create a picture for us to break down this upcoming week and come up with a game plan.

“I mean, everyone in the league knows Chris Goulding, knows who he is, but we also know who Milton Doyle is.

"They've got great shooters all across the board, Tanner Krebs, so obviously, that's a key focus taking them off the three-point line, but we’re also cautious of their playing ability as well.”

The clash tips off at 2.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
