Talking points
Next man up
The Taipans' injury list just continues to pile up, as the team faces another big round that begins against their state rival.
Cairns has suffered some of the biggest losses of the season so far and will be hoping that some of the young guys can step up and take advantage of more playing time.
Prather unstoppable
Outside of Bryce Cotton, Casey Prather might just be the most unstoppable player in the league thus far.
The Bullets superstar is second in the league for scoring and is doing it as efficient as he ever has.
With the Bullets also battling injuries to key players, Prather has taken on the responsibility to lead from the front and give his team the best chance of a win.
What they're saying
Bullets coach Stu Lash on what new addition Dakota Mathias can bring to his squad:
"He's a basketball IQ player, a really good shooter and understands ball movement and execution.
"I think he'll fit in really well with the current group and just give us another connector type player that understands how to play systematic basketball, and can still get his own shot.
"He's a good ball carrier too so he can help in that area where without Norto (Mitch Norton) we are really only having two primary ball carriers with Tristan [Devers] being one of them who is still in his development phase of that part of the position."
Taipans coach Adam Forde on his side's matchup Brisbane:
"[Brisbane] are tough, they’ve got Tyrell Harrison who’s one hell of a big, he’s going to cause some problems for us.
"Casey Prather is in All-NBL first-team form.
"Taking care of the some of the defensive assignments, while understanding what we need to do to look after possession and get the ball moving on the offensive end."
