There's been consistent noise this off-season around the future of star wing Jaylin Galloway, but according to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, that speculation might be a thing of the past.

"From what I know, as of today, Jaylin Galloway will be a member for the Sydney Kings for the 2026/27 NBL season," Uluc said on NBL Marketplace, presented by Paywise.

"The reason we continued to talk about it, the reason we persisted, is because other teams were persisting. There was a sense that he might be available and there were enough teams out there in the NBL who were thinking 'alright we can go and get him'."

Galloway has spent the last six seasons in the NBL with the Sydney Kings, and is coming off one of his most productive efforts in their title-winning team.

The 23-year-old averaged just under 10 points per game and shot a career best 37 per cent from three.

"From the sounds of it, the Sydney Kings will keep him under contract and he will stay for a final season and we will see what happens beyond that," Uluc added.

"This is the final year of one of his lower paying deals."

While that news will be pleasant for Kings' fans to hear, unfortunately they'll have to wait until mid-season to see their young star hit the floor, as he is sidelined with a shoulder injury.

"He (Galloway) will effectively join the playing roster in the middle of the season," Uluc said.

"All of the teams that were pursuing him, they're under the impression now that he's more than likely with 99 per cent certainty staying with the Sydney Kings."

While that injury will keep him off the court for an extended period, there's no denying what impact Galloway can have in the NBL, which was further highlighted with his outstanding Championship Series.

"Hopefully he comes back healthier and stronger, because he is still so young in his career," Pete Hooley added. "We saw a little glimpses of it again, how good this guy can be. I really think he's a star of the future."
