"I can’t get into all the granular details, but I understand the question and why it’s being asked."

Ever since he was appointed as the head coach of the Brisbane Bullets, Stu Lash has fielded questions around his suitability for the role.

While he had significant experience in administration, management and development roles at a high level, Lash had never coached professionally.

Defeating the Breakers in New Zealand in Round 1, he quickly proved his credentials on the sidelines.

Since then, the Bullets have had some memorable road wins in Perth, Auckland and Hobart, but the first 11 rounds of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 Season haven't come without their challenges, slumping to a 5-11 record.

Naturally, that brings questions around the club's hierarchy. Particularly from fans of a team that hasn't won a championship since 2007.

At a recent members-only forum, the first-time head coach commented on his future in the role.

“I understand the question, and as we said earlier, we as an organisation are evaluating everything right now,” Lash said, as reported by Fox Sports.

“I have a deep care and love for this club, and I’m willing to do whatever needs to be done to put this club in a position to be successful.”

As a follow-up, Lash was then asked if he would consider stepping aside or shifting roles, with assistants Greg Vanderjagt and Darryl McDonald among those boasting strong experience in the coaching group.

“Those are conversations that are actively happening right now,” Lash said.

“I can’t get into all the granular details, but I understand the question and why it’s being asked.”

Brisbane will look to keep its Finals hopes alive on Thursday when it travels to Wollongong to face the Illawarra Hawks from 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
