Brisbane import Jaylen Adams is determined to turn around his slow start to the NBL26 season.

NBL22 MVP Jaylen Adams is the first to admit the start of the 2025-26 Hungry Jack's season hasn't gone according to plan, for both him and his Brisbane Bullets.

Through the first nine games of the NBL26 campaign, the superstar import is averaging a career-low 14.3 points per game. At one stage, he was even removed as a starter, as the Bullets looked to reignite his spark off the bench.

But things are starting to turn.

After three games out of the starting five, Adams was back where he belongs for the team's most recent game against South East Melbourne.

He's now chalked up three straight games of double-figure scoring, including 29 against Melbourne on October 17.

Now, the 29-year-old is hoping to help the Bullets rise up the ladder too.

“The season isn’t exactly as we want so far, but we’re getting some guys back, bringing in new guys and I think it’s looking up,” Adams told CODE Sports.

“My goal is to keep building and help the team win games and I’ll continue to look for ways to do that.”

His next two chances to keep growing as a group for the Bullets come in Round 7's clashes against Cairns and Sydney, with the latter marking Adams' first matchup against the club he won the NBL22 Championship with.

“Of course there’s a little extra when playing a former team [Sydney],” Adams said.

“I look forward to playing against the guys I shared the court with for a few years. If they care anything like we do, I’m sure they’ll come in hungry and looking for a win just like us.”

Brisbane first plays Queensland rivals Cairns on Thursday night (7.30pm AEDT), before taking on the Kings on Saturday (8pm AEDT), with both matches taking place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, live on ESPN.
