Global spotlight on Cotton v Davis rivalry

Mike Wells says the NBL Championship Series has captured global attention, with the Cotton–Davis rivalry driving international interest
Adelaide 36ers coach Mike Wells says this year’s title race has captured global attention, driven by the electrifying on-court battle between Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis.
A must-watch Hungry Jack's NBL Championship Series has delivered record crowds and broadcast numbers domestically, with Sunday’s decider already sold out, but Wells says the League’s growing reach extends well beyond Australia and New Zealand.
"The NBL is a global brand and a lot of people in the (United) States and in the NBA are aware of what's going on over here," Wells said.
"My phone's been quite full ... I think there's a lot of people that know what's going on because of this League and what Bryce and Kendric have done.
"You'll see an influx of players and talent, and there will be some kickbacks from this type of rivalry."
American trio Zylan Cheatham, Nick Rakocevic and John Jenkins have been central to Adelaide’s run, while Torrey Craig and Tim Soares have played key roles for the Kings.
Wells says interest in the Series has hit fever pitch and he is relishing the chance to lead his team into a winner-takes-all Game 5.
"We've had a hell of a year. We're proud to represent South Australia and Adelaide," he added.
Sydney hosts Adelaide in Game 5 on Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm AEST, live on ESPN and 10.
