Perth Wildcats captain Jesse Wagstaff says he hasn't decided whether he will play during the NBL27 season.

Just days after the Perth Wildcats’ Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season came to an end at the hands of the Sydney Kings, one veteran has delayed talk about his future.

540-game NBL forward Jesse Wagstaff said he hasn’t made a decision if he’s going to play on for an 18th season in 2026-27.

“That’s a discussion for later,” Wagstaff said to the West Australian.

The 39-year-old turned back the clock in the final round of the season with an 18-point game.

While his minutes have been somewhat limited this year, he still has a key role to play.

“I don’t feel any different from the past,” Wagstaff said.

“My role has rarely changed.

“We’ve got some great staff who are much smarter than I, who you listen to and take little bits from and hope for the best.”

Heading into the off-season, the Wildcats have Kristian Dootlittle, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr, Dylan Windler, Ben Henshall, Jaron Rillie, Sunday Dech, Noa Kouakou-Heugue, Cameron Huefner and Lat Mayen (club option) under contract for NBL27.

The NBL26 Playoffs continue on Tuesday night with Adelaide hosting South East Melbourne from 7.30pm AEDT on Tuesday, live on ESPN.
