The culture at the Australian Boomers is one of the strongest in world basketball and continues to grow with each passing day.
Its strength and cohesion were on show recently when the group all congregated in Melbourne for a player-led camp to help prepare the Boomers for the 2027 FIBA World Cup and 2028 Olympic Games.
Four-time Olympian Matthew Dellavedova, who was part of that camp at CourtSide Melbourne alongside 20 of the country's top men's players, has backed up that sentiment.
In a recent interview with championship-winning Cleveland teammate Richard Jefferson on The Richard Show, his American counterpart asked which had the best locker room between the 2016 Cavaliers, 2026 Sydney Kings and Australian Boomers.
In response, the NBA and NBL champion said:
"The [Boomers] are guys I've grown up playing with," Dellavedova said.
"We finished fourth in 2016, we finished fourth in 2019, and the Boomers have a history of finishing fourth even before that.
"So to be able to break through and win that first Olympic medal, [is something I'm proud of]."
Dellavedova and his Kings are now preparing for their Hungry Jack's NBL championship defence, which starts on Sunday, September 20 against Cairns at Afterpay Arena.
